Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Energy Management and Economics (JEME) strictly adheres to the core practices and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and DOAJ Principles of Transparency.
1. Duties of Editors
- Fair Evaluation: Decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, novelty, validity, and scope alignment, without regard to authors' race, nationality, gender, or institutional seniority.
- Confidentiality: Complete protection of manuscript confidentiality and double-blind anonymity across all editorial stages.
- Conflict of Interest Mitigation: Immediate recusal of any editor possessing institutional, personal, or financial competing interests regarding a submission.
2. Duties of Authors
- Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must submit purely original work. Plagiarism in all forms, data fabrication, and simultaneous dual submissions are strictly prohibited.
- Authorship & CRediT: Authorship is restricted to individuals with substantial contributions adhering to ICMJE and CRediT criteria. Honorary or ghost authorships are strictly barred.
- Generative AI Transparency: AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any generative AI assistance must be disclosed transparently in the manuscript and disclosure form; human authors bear ultimate accountability.
- Data Sharing: Authors must provide explicit Data Availability Statements aligned with FAIR data principles.
3. Duties of Reviewers
- Constructive Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively, providing constructive, reasoned evaluations free of ad hominem remarks.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as privileged documents and immediately decline reviews involving competing interests.
4. Allegations, Corrections, and Retractions
JEME adheres to COPE flowcharts for handling suspected misconduct. Confirmed severe violations (e.g., fraudulent data or uncredited text overlap) result in formal retraction notices watermarked onto the PDF and linked to the DOI, preserving transparency.
