Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines & Manuscript Specifications

The Journal of Energy Management and Economics (JEME) invites high-quality research submissions in English (preferred) or Arabic, adhering to the following standard specifications:

1. Manuscript Technical Requirements

  • Title: ≤ 20 words, precise, without uncommon acronyms, provided in both English and Arabic.
  • Abstract: 150–250 words, unstructured, bilingual (English and Arabic), clearly summarizing objective, methodology, key findings, and practical implications.
  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords in both languages, reflecting core text concepts.
  • Structure: Must adhere to the standard IMRaD framework (Introduction, Methodology & Models, Results and Discussion, Conclusions & Policy Recommendations).
  • Word Count: 6,000 to 8,000 words for original articles, and up to 10,000 words for comprehensive reviews, inclusive of tables and references.
  • Referencing Style: APA 7th Edition for management and economic studies, or IEEE for applied technical papers. Persistent DOIs are mandatory for all references where available, with all references transliterated into Latin characters.
  • Figures & Tables: Editable formats, sequentially numbered, standalone captions, figures ≥ 300 dpi.

2. Anonymization for Double-Blind Peer Review

The manuscript file must be completely anonymized: no author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or institutional identifiers in the text, headers, footers, or file properties. A separate Title Page must be submitted containing author metadata and mandatory ORCID iDs.

3. The Four Mandatory Submission Disclosures

  1. Author Agreement, Copyright Retention (CC BY 4.0), and 14-Role CRediT Matrix.
  2. Conflict of Interest, Funding Sources, and Generative AI Disclosure Form.
  3. Data Availability Statement (FAIR Principles).
  4. Diamond Open Access & Zero APC Commitment.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The manuscript aligns with one of JEME's six core tracks and addresses clear managerial or economic dimensions.
  • The manuscript file is strictly anonymized: no author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or file metadata properties to ensure double-blind integrity.
  • Title, abstract (150–250 words), and keywords (4–6) are provided in both English and Arabic.
  • References adhere consistently to APA 7th or IEEE style, transliterated to Latin script, with active DOIs included wherever available.
  • The total word count falls strictly within the permitted limit (6,000 to 8,000 words for original articles).
  • The mandatory disclosure forms are completed and signed (Author Agreement & CRediT, COI & AI Disclosure, and Data Availability).
  • The work is entirely original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration by any other journal or conference.
